Libraries stock up on new Harry Potter book

Skip main menu

Cumbria's Libraries are stocking with the long-awaited "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" by J.K Rowling. Up to 200 copies of the book will be delivered to the County Council's Library Service this Friday, by an express delivery service, and sent to Libraries across the county in readiness for the official publication of the book on Saturday 21st June.

The undoubted demand for the book means that the Library Service has ordered more copies than any other previous book in its extensive catalogue, hoping that people, young and old, who may not be in a position to purchase the book will be able to borrow a copy and enjoy the latest adventures of Harry, Hermoine and Ron.

Pre-orders to borrow the book have already been received and the public are advised to contact their local library to place orders, which will be dealt with on a first come - first loaned basis. As it is expected demand will still exceed supply everyone who has placed on order will be contacted on Friday and told when they can collect a copy.
