On Monday 30th June at 10am, Si?n Rees, Chief Executive of Connexions Cumbria will officially open the new library/Connexions Suite at James Rennie School in Carlisle.

The opening will include the unveiling of a plaque and a speech by Si?n Rees.  Other guests invited to the opening include, County Councillor Joan Stocker, Cabinet Spokesperson for Education, John Nellist, Corporate Director – Education, and Members from Cumbria County Council’s Library Service who have given advice and support with the new library.

The new library has been completely upgraded with new furniture and a junior Librarian Computer System.  This ‘talking’ computer system enables the children to take books to and from the library easily and some pupils will give a demonstration on how to use it on the day.

County Councillor Joan Stocker says

“This is a wonderful new facility for these pupils to use.  A great deal of money has been spent upgrading the books available to the pupils, new furniture has been purchased as well as a fantastic new computer system for the children to use when taking or returning a book from the library.  I am delighted to be attending the opening and I am sure that the children will enjoy using this new facility.”

Si?n Rees is delighted to be opening the new Library/Connexions Suite.  She says

“We are delighted to support James Rennie School and all the young people who will benefit from the new Connexions Suite”.

Steven Bowditch Head teacher at the School is looking forward to his pupils using the new facility.  He says

“The completion of the Upper and Lower School Libraries with the new computer system is a real asset to the school.  Our many thanks to all those people, and particularly to Connexions and the Local Education Authority for their help and support.”
