10 year anniversary for the Ella Thompson Day Centre

At 12.00 noon on Friday 14 March 2003 at the Ella Thompson Day centre, Brampton, Carlisle celebrates its 10th anniversary. County Councillor Ralph Aldersey, Chairman of Cumbria County Council will be joining users of the day care service, volunteers and staff at the centre to celebrate. County Councillor Ralph Aldersey says, 

"It’s a real pleasure to have been invited to join everyone at the Ella Thompson day Centre to celebrate the centre’s tenth anniversary. We are having a buffet lunch followed by musical entertainment from Willie Bendle, a local accordion player. 

The centre provides day care for older adults in the area three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Day care is an opportunity for older adults living independently in their own homes to mix socially with others and to take part in stimulating activities with friends and voluntary helpers. It’s a valuable service provided by Cumbria Care on behalf of Cumbria Social Services.”
