Barrow Library closes for a day

Barrow Library will be closed all day on Thursday, March 13th as part of the current redecoration scheme. 

The library has managed to stay open while the decorators have been in so far but on Thursday, the entrance hall and central portion of the lending area are being painted which means that it will have to close for health and safety reasons. 

Helen Towers, Acting Area Library Manager, said: 

"This refurbishment of Barrow library will greatly improve the overall conditions and environment. We will unfortunately have to close the library on Thursday as it would be unsafe for the public and staff to be using it when work is taking place on the central area. The library closes for half a day on Thursday anyway so this will reduce the inconvenience to our customers. I would like to thank everyone for their patience during this redecoration project and hope they will agree that the end result will be worth it."
