Kids get a taste of their environment

On Thursday 13th March at 11.45am, children at Morton Park Primary School in Carlisle will be learning a little something about the welfare of their planet by tucking into a delicious 'Help the Environment' meal.

This is yet another Kid's Kitchen promotion brought to primary schools throughout the County by Cumbria Contract Services. It aims to encourage Cumbrian school children to consider their own environment and think about things that they can do to help. The children will also receive a fun-filled environmental action pack crammed with fun activities and fascinating facts about our world and their very own Kid's Kitchen pencil, specially made from a recycled plastic cup.

County Councillor Joan Stocker, Cabinet Spokesperson for Education says

"This is a wonderful way to make learning fun and encourage our children to think carefully about their own environment and look at ways of how they can help it. The children, I am sure, will not only enjoy their meal but will have lots of fun taking part in the event."

The Kid's Kitchen's characters Egon Toast and Chelsea Bunn will also be attending the special lunch.
