40 Year Anniversary for Marsh House

At 2.00p.m. on Saturday 24 May 2003, Marsh House, Victoria Road, Ulverston celebrates its 40th anniversary with an open day and fate. The Chairman of Cumbria County Council will be joining residents, staff and many local people to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Marsh House residential home.

County Councillor Ralph Aldersey, Chairman of Cumbria County Council says,

"It's a real pleasure to have been invited to join everyone at Marsh House to celebrate the home's 40th anniversary. Ulverston Town band is playing at the event and there will be a tombola, cake stall, bric-a-brac, raffle and a bottle stall. There is a 50p entrance fee for people coming along to the fate. The entrance charge includes a cream tea. I hope that many local people will join us for a fun family day out to help staff and residents celebrate the 40th anniversary of Marsh House.

The Home was purpose built in 1963 and fully refurbished in 1998. Marsh Housie is situated in its own pleasant gardens and is also close to a local park, shops, library and public transport services. There are many different activities and services available to residents. Marsh House has provided a local service to the people of South Cumbria for 40 years and continues to provide that service in a friendly, happy environment."

Marsh House is managed by Cumbria Care and provides services on behalf of Cumbria County Council.
