Activities for Adult Learners Week in Whitehaven
This weekend sees the start of Adult Learners Week and Whitehaven's Daniel Hay Library is gearing up to make sure that as many people as possible benefit from the initiative. Adult Learners Week, from May 10th to 16th, is a nationwide campaign aimed at encouraging adults to turn their dreams into reality by learning something new.
Councillor Joan Stocker, County Council spokesperson for education, said:
"Adult Learners Week provides an ideal opportunity for adults of all ages to learn something new. Learning can enrich people's lives but it can do a lot more. It can enable individuals to gain a qualification to help them gain a new job, unleash hidden talents or just develop new skills. I hope that as many people as possible will take the plunge during this week dedicated to adult learners and discover a new interest or challenge."
