24/11/03 - Spreading the Word about Cumbria Sport

This week, Cumbria Sport has sent one of their rucksacks on its travels in order to spread the word about the service Cumbria Sport provides.  

Jean Pennie Cumbria County Council’s Policy Officer for Education has started the journey by taking it to Cape Town in South Africa.  She will be passing it on to other travellers who are asked to take a digital photograph of the rucksack or even send a postcard before they hand it to someone else so Cumbria Sport can follow the bag’s journey.   

Becky Underwood, Partnership Support Officer for Cumbria Sport explains why they are sending this rucksack around the world.  She says   

“We are hoping the bag will travel to every country that has been represented in the Rugby World Cup in Australia and maybe build links with Sport Development officers worldwide”
