15/10/03 - Cumbria County Council's Legal Services Unit receive Quality Mark Award

On Friday 17thOctober at 2.15pm in The Chairman’s Room at the Courts in Carlisle, Cumbria County Council Chairman Joe Nicholson will present Brian Walker, Head of Cumbria County Council’s Legal Services Unit with the Lexcel Practice Management Award.  The Award has been made following independent assessments on behalf of the Law Society and confirms that the Unit has met the core requirements of the Lexcel Practice Management Standards.  

To achieve the Award the Unit had to write and implement an Office Procedures Manual explaining the rules and procedure of work in the Legal Services Unit.  Systems had to be introduced or refined to ensure the Unit could comply with all of the core requirements of Lexcel.  This Quality Mark is evidence of a well-managed Lexcel Practice committed to a quality service.  It will not only improve client care, but improve management efficiency including effective risk management and increase productivity.

County Council Chairman, Joe Nicholson is looking forward to presenting the Award.  He says
