16/10/03 - Youth Grant applications high on the agenda at Local Committee
On Friday 17thOctober at 1pm at St Michaels Church in Workington, Cumbria County Council’s Local Committee for Allerdale will consider 22 grant applications from a range of community organisations to help their local project work with young people.
County Councillor Barbara Cannon, Chair of the Local Committee says
“Services to the young people of Allerdale are very important and we want to make sure we respond to the needs and aspirations of young people and the volunteer groups who work with them. The Local Committee encourages grant applications from local youth groups (8-16 age range), for contributions towards materials, equipment and running costs.”
Grant Application being considered by the Local Committee on Friday are as follows
Workington & District Scout Assoc – Brainthwaite Scout Campsite - £1500 to replace disabled access bridge
Broughton Red Rose Juniors - £500 to start an under 16 team in September
Holm Cultram Abbey Breakfast Club - £800 to purchase play equipment
Cockermouth & District Youth Brass Band - £392 to provide tuition in brass band instruments
3rdWigton Sea Scout Group - £1500 to replace old trailer to store equipment
Broughton Moor Village Activities Committee - £1000 to provide an outing/event each month
Dearham Methodist Youth Club £1140 to provide new pool and tennis table so the club can introduce a games night
Wigton Hockey Club - £1500 to pay for running costs
Broughton Rural Safety Group - £1500 to build a shelter for teenagers
Crosby Youth Club - £500 to take the children to see the Christmas show at Lancaster
Silloth Youth Centre - £1100 to go towards operational expenses
Moorclose Community House Group - £1500 to develop a piece of land and build a teen shelter
Thursby Sports & Recreation Committee £889 to purchase nets for netball and football
The Uldale Sports Committee £1500 to develop a play area and ball sports court in the village
Maryport Amateur Rugby League Club Youth Section - £1500 to purchase a new U16 strip
Netherhall Junior Football Club - £1000 to pay for school facilities to provide winter rugby training
Maryport Boys & Girls Club - £1500 to go towards running costs
Trinity Youth Club - £600 for premises hire costs
Junior Bitter End Football Club - £1171 to purchase new equipment and training kit
Cockermouth Scouts - £1500 towards running costs
Northside Community Club - £1000 to help with running costs for hiring the centre for the winter sessions and new equipment
Glasson Rangers Youth RLFC - £1000 to help buy training equipment
