Capita and Cumbria County Council pay tribute to the success of younger staff at Capita’s  state of the art Regional Business Centre in Carlisle

“We are the largest local provider of Property and Highways Consultancy Services and the experience and opportunities we are able to provide for our young employees are excellent and we are committed to growing the business and employing more local youngsters.  We have been running a trainee technician scheme for school leavers in Cumbria for 3 years, and last year we took on 6 trainees.  2003 has seen another 8 trainees start, and this ceremony is to honour them.” commented John Slee, Capita Local Practices Managing Director.

As one of Cumbria County Council’s Strategic Partners, Joe Nicholson, Chairman of the County Council presented the certificates to the trainees.

Joe Nicholson, said:

”I was so pleased to have the opportunity to meet those young people who have worked so hard to acquire the knowledge and skills to get them off to a flying start in their careers. Opportunities for young people to gain qualifications and skills whilst at work can often be limited so I'm particularly pleased that Capita are showing a keen interest in employing and supporting young people from the local area!”
