14/04/04 - Jane celebrates 100th birthday

At 3.00pm tomorrow, Jane Wooler a resident at Langrigg House, Morton, Carlisle celebrates her 100thbirthday.  Jane will be celebrating with carers, friends, and family.  Eileen Muir, Manager of Langrigg House says,

“We are delighted to be able to celebrate this remarkable birthday event with Jane.  It’s amazing to think that she has experienced such a vast range of history including two world wars, the sinking of the Titanic and technological developments from television and cars to microwaves and mobile phones.”

Jane was born in Carlisleand lived in the city all her life.  She went to Christchurch school in Botchergate and made hats for a living at a factory in Norfolk Street.
