Cumbria County Council’s Penrith Urban and Alston and East Fellside Neighbourhood Forums have ensured that four local community groups including North lakes Field Archers have a prosperous start to the New Year with grants totalling £1,150.
North Lakes Field Archers received £500 towards 3D targets and a shed. Culgaith Parish Council received £300 for repairs to the track to Blencarn post office, Hunsonby Parish Council received £250 towards improvements to two play areas at Winskill and Little Salkeld and the first Alston St Augustine Guides received £50 to buy a mini oven.
County Councillor Mary Warburton, Chair of Eden Local Committee, says,
“I am pleased to support community groups and projects in Eden. The grants provided by Neighbourhood Forums give people the chance to participate in community activities of all kinds. This promotes rural life and social inclusion for people in rural communities.”
David Fuller, North Lakes Field Archers says,
“I am delighted to receive this £500 grant from the County Council’s Penrith Urban and Alston & East Fellside Neighbourhood Forums. Our archery club now has 27 members including 15 juniors. The new modern 3D targets are very popular and being able to buy the shed to store our equipment in was a real bonus. I am very impressed with the work of the Neighbourhood Forums in supporting local community groups and projects like North Lakes Field Archers.”
