02/07/04 - Devil's Bridge safety advice for bikers

The Cumbria branch of the Motorcycle Action Group will be handing out the new road safety leaflets produced by Safer Roads for Cumbria at Devil’s Bridge this Sunday, July 4 from 11am-1.30pm.

Paul Turner from MAG will also be manning a MAG Info Stand and Katharine Whitham from Capita Communications, on behalf of Safer Roads for Cumbria, will be handing out the "It Wouldn’t Kill You - To Know Your Limits" leaflets.

Cumbria County Council’s Cabinet spokesman for Highways and Infrastructure, Kevan Wilkinson says:

"Safer Roads for Cumbria is aiming to reduce the number of motorcycle accident casualties in Cumbria by promoting safer and better riding. There are more riders re-discovering motorcycling than ever before. Modern motorcycles are more powerful than ever before. Riders who take up this pastime after a long absence - with no extra training or re-training - can be putting themselves and others at risk."
