The competition will include a diverse range of sports including, Athletics, Basketball, Boccia, Football, Hockey, Netball, Rugby League, Rugby Union, and Tennis and Cycling.
County Councillor Joan Stocker, Cabinet Spokesperson for Education says
"This is a fabulous competition for all young people to come together and take part in a high profile event and have fun with their friends and families at the same time. Cumbria Sport work extremely hard to develop sporting activities available to the young people of this County and continue to achieve high standards. This is a fun way for young people to participate in the sport that they love. I am sure this year's final will be as successful as they have been in the past and I wish everyone the very best of luck."
Richard Johnston, Sports & Recreation Officer for Cumbria Sport says
"Cumbria Sport Partnership runs this event every year and the Games have previously only taken place in Carlisle & Kendal. This year, Allerdale is hosting the event for the first time. The event is aimed at spectators as well as competitors. Obviously the focus of the Games will remain on the young competitors, but entertainment and further attractions for spectators and families will be ongoing throughout the day. So come along and support the teams on the day!"
Through the negotiation of a comprehensive sponsorship package, Cumbria Sport is able to provide all competitors with a t-shirt, water bottle, city bag, pen, pencil, balloons, badges, and water to drink. All volunteers, officials and team managers will also receive a polo shirt, city bag, water bottle, pen, packed lunch, and water to drink.
