Cumbria County Council and Barrow Borough Council are asking people in the Barrow area who have mobility difficulties to apply to join the a new ring and ride public transport service. The service is for people travelling within the Barrow area who cannot use conventional services and do not receive a half price bus pass. Barrow Dial a Ride has been successful in securing the tender for the new service.
Application forms are already being sent to people who previously used the services funded by the Council s and operated by Dial-A-Ride. However anyone who has not received an application form and wishes to register for the service should contact the Borough Council.
From 1 April onwards the new service can be accessed by telephoning 0845 601 9907. Transport will be available Mondays to Fridays between 9 am and 3pm and passengers are asked to give a minimum of 48 hours notice. The fare remains at £2.50 a single journey.
