Today, Cumbria County Council’s Local Committee for Copeland agreed to allocate over £10k to early years projects in Copeland.  

The groups benefiting from this funding are as follows:

•    £2500 to Play & Learn at Seascale School – to develop a breakfast club
•    £5000 to Copeland Learning Together – to continue the Storysacks programme in Cleator Moor

County Councillor Ronnie Calvin, Chair of the Local Committee says 

“Children benefit from these type of schemes and parents can go to or look for work, knowing that their children are being cared for in a stimulating environment by qualified staff.  These voluntary groups provide essential childcare services, which are affordable and meet the needs of the families.  They work extremely hard and I am delighted that the Local Committee has been able to continue to support them in this way.”
