Changes are to be made to a number of Cumbria County Council subsidised bus services in he South Lakeland area from Monday April 5 as a result of the contract re-tendering process.
At the same time, Stagecoach will be introducing their summer timetable in Lakeland and will also be making a number of changes to services in the Carlisle area as a result of the loss of schools contracts in Dumfries and Galloway.
Part of those changes were to have included the withdrawing of daytime journeys on the 101 service from Rockcliffe to Carlisle and on the 71 service from Anthorn to Carlisle.
But the County Council has stepped in to subsidise the routes as part of its commitment to rural bus services in the County.
