12/4/2005 - NVQ Success for Cumbrian Carers

Cumbria County Council’s care staff will be celebrating their achievements over the coming weeks as 377carers receive NVQ awards.

Staff at Cumbria Care have earned NVQs in Health and Social Care, Promoting Independence, Assessor Awards and Internal Verifier Awards. In most cases the presentations are the culmination of 12 - 18 months of training, study and vocational practice. The carers will receive their awards at four ceremonies held in April and May.

These latest awards are part of Cumbria Care’s ongoing commitment to training and development with over 150 further carers receiving NVQ’s in the last 8 months.

Cate Bowman, Cumbria Care General Manager, said:

"I congratulate all those receiving NVQ awards. We are very proud of the hard work and achievements of our care staff across the county. Cumbria Care is dedicated to providing the highest quality personal care so having well trained and experienced staff is essential to us."
