13/4/2005 - County Council election - candidates confirmed

It has been confirmed today that a total of 229 candidates will stand for election at the forthcoming county council elections on the 5th May. All 84 county council electoral divisions are being contested.

No notices of withdrawal from the election were received by yesterday's noon deadline, following the original publication of the candidate list last Friday (8th April). 

Anyone who wants to apply to change from a postal to a proxy vote (or vice versa), for a change of address for a postal ballot paper, or to cancel a postal, proxy or postal proxy vote must apply to the relevant Electoral Registration Officer by 5.00pm on Tuesday 19 April.

Applications for a new postal or proxy vote must be submitted by 5.00pm on Tuesday, 26 April 2005.
