14/4/2005 - Resurfacing Spencer Street

Urgent resurfacing work will start on Spencer Street in Carlisle on Wednesday, 20th April, between Victoria Place and Warwick Road.

The work will be carried out by closing one traffic lane at a time and engineers will work seven days a week in an effort to minimise disruption.

The three week scheme will involve the associated closure of Lonsdale Street from Monday, 25th April, until the end of the scheme. Chiswick Street will be closed from Tuesday, 3rd May, for one week.

Cumbria County Council is also using the opportunity to resurface the footway on Spenser Street from Lonsdale Street to Victoria Place.
