26/4/2005 - Brand new Kid's Kitchen Baguette club for Cumbrian kids

Children at Moor Row Community Primary School will be able to taste the new Kid's Kitchen Baguette Club when it is launched on Wednesday by Cumbria County Council.

If a child doesn't want the traditional hot cooked meal then they can opt for a tasty, freshly prepared baguette instead. All children who stay at school for lunch on Wednesday will also get some goodies from the Kid's Kitchen characters Egon Toast and Chelsea Bunn.

Margaret Gunson, account manager for Client Services said:

"Client Services prepare lunches for 14,000 children across Cumbria every day on behalf of Cumbria County Council. We make sure that they have a variety of foods to choose from. This new Baguette Club will enable children to pre-order their baguette so parents know and can be happy with what their child will be eating. All baguettes are prepared on site each day and come with a wide variety of delicious and contemporary fillings.

Like all our school foodservice menus they are designed to comply with national nutritional standards, while being appetising and delicious for the county’s youngsters. I am sure the new Baguette Club will be a success."

Headteacher, Mr John Nixon said:

"Lunches at Moor Row are consistently of a high quality and enjoyed by over 50% of our children. We are pleased to host this event tomorrow."
