The Kent Estuary Neighbourhood Forum holds its last meeting of the year at 7.30pm on Tuesday 6th December at Leasgill Athenaeum.
Tony Parker and Roger Bingham will give a brief report about life in Heversham, before the two main speakers of the evening take the floor.
Alastair McNeill from South Lakeland District Council will talk about the portfolio of documents called the Local Development Framework (replacing the South Lakeland Local Plan) whose role is to protect South Lakeland’s landscape, heritage and open spaces and decide where development can best be located. How will this affect you?
Following on from Alastair, Lindsey Ormesher from the Cumbria Healthy Schools Team will talk about the Healthy Schools scheme which covers the various elements of health –balanced eating; sex and drug education; emotional health; physical activity etc. and will look at how schools in the Kent Estuary Forum area are doing?
There will also be the opportunity to announce local pieces of information, meeting dates etc. and listen to representatives from local groups explain their applications to the Forum for a grant.
The Forum is a public meeting and all are welcome.
