7/12/2005 - Ofsted congratulates Cumbrian schools for success

Staff, pupils and parents from four Cumbrian schools are celebrating this week after Ofsted inspectors congratulated them on their hard work and achievements.

Today, Her Majesty's Chief Inspector (HMCI) published his list of schools and colleges which, in their inspections in 2004/05, were found to be particularly successful.

The following Cumbrian schools have been included in the list:

Stanwix Primary School
Waberthwaite C of E School
The Bishop Harvey Goodwin School
Caldew School

County councillor Philip Chappelhow, cabinet spokesman for children's services said:

"Cumbria benefits from many successful schools which all have highly motivated staff who expect high standards from their pupils.  I would like to congratulate everyone involved in the success of these four schools.  Its great to see their hard work and achievements recognised by Ofsted."
