15/2/2005 - Residents have opportunity to raise concerns about the city centre at night

Concerns about public disorder and other issues about the City at night can be raised at the next neighbourhood forum for Castle Ward residents.

The meeting will be in the Lowther Street Congregational Church, opposite Devonshire Street on Wednesday 16th February at 7pm.

Chairman of the forum county councillor Ralph Aldersey said:

"At the last forum meeting in September it was agreed that we would again look at city centre issues and the night time economy. Representatives from Carlisle City Council as well as Cumbria Police will be on hand to respond to any concerns that residents may have. We would also like people to attend who have been affected by the floods last month to see if there is anything else the forum can help with. I hope people within the Castle ward take the opportunity to attend this meeting."

Normal grant applications will also be considered. Anyone interested in applying for a grant through the forum can contact Carlisle Area Support team on 01228 606474 for an application form.
