18/2/2005 - Assistance to flood victims still top of agenda at Neighbourhood Forum

Residents of St Aidans ward affected by the floods have another chance to share their experiences at the next neighbourhood forum meeting.

The meeting will be held in Greystone Community Centre on Close Street at 7pm on Wednesday 23rd February.

Any residents who wants to raise anything else about the recent flooding or would like the county council to feed back to relevant agencies are asked to come along and share their views. PC Mac Maguire from Cumbria Police will also be at the meeting to listen to any police matters that residents may have.

Chairman of the forum, county councillor Reg Watson said:

"This forum gives the county council the opportunity to see if there is anything else we can do to help the many people affected by the floods last month. If residents want us to pass on information or concerns they may have to any of the other agencies involved then we will be happy to do so. I hope people will come along to the meeting on Wednesday."

Normal grant applications will also be considered. For more information or to apply for a grant please contact Cumbria County Council's Area Support Team for Carlisle on 01228 606317.
