- Gathering and representing a voice for rural Cumbria;

- Developing policies for rural areas and influence other agencies policy development agenda for the benefit of Rural Cumbria;

- Carrying out targeted community development work in areas or with groups of interest, based on areas of greatest need that have been previously agreed by Cumbria County Council.

County councillor Ronnie Calvin, Chairman of the local committee said:

"The county council recognises that working in partnership is essential for providing quality services that will benefit local people. I am pleased that Voluntary Action Cumbria was able to come along to the committee meeting to inform members about what our partnership has achieved so far and what development work is in the pipeline for Copeland area for the future."
