This week, Cumbria County Council's local committee for Copeland agreed to contribute over £5k to the Millom Youth Partnership.
This money will allow the Partnership to commission a dedicated team of youth workers to work with the young people in the Millom and District area making sure they can access facilities they need and want to see provided within their area.
County Councillor, Ronnie Calvin, Chairman of the local committee said:
"The volunteers working within The Millom Youth Partnership work extremely hard to attract funding from various sources to benefit the young people of this area. The county council is committed to providing services for young people and any additional money gives these young people the chance to participate in various activities, getting them to meet new people and avoiding social exclusion. A lot can be achieved with partnership working. This money will enable the partnership to co-ordinate services the services provided to meet the needs of every young person within this community."
