11/1/2005 - Business advice after the storm

A Business Recovery Group has been established to assist companies across Cumbria affected by the recent floods and storm weather. The specific needs of the businesses affected by the recent events are still being assessed. Based on the information currently available the Group is looking to:

Identify alternative premises for businesses requiring temporary accommodation in the short to medium term.

Provide specialist professional advice where required. This could range from accountancy support through to general advice on how a business can recover as quickly as possible after storm and flooding incident.

Access to computers and IT services. This is thought to be particularly needed by the tourism sector or other businesses that rely on trade via the Internet.
