Cumbria County Council is inviting residents to attend an emergency neighbourhood forum meeting for resident of Castle ward to discuss the aftermath of last weekend's floods.
The meeting will be held at the Ukrainian Club on Silloth Street on Wednesday 19th January at 10am. County and City councillors and officers as well as representatives from various agencies will be on hand to give advice to residents of Caldewgate and the surrounding areas affected by the floods.
County councillor Ralph Aldersey, chairman of the forum, said:
"After last weekend's flood there could be many questions people still want answered. This meeting will give those people an opportunity to hear from the various agencies who tackled the emergency as well as those dealing with the recovery. Application forms for financial support from the Cumbria Flood Recovery Fund will also be available. The county council believes this is the most effective method of distributing financial support and would encourage people to make applications. Our own Neighbourhood Development Officers will be more than happy to help local people complete the forms, alternatively they can pick up a form at 50 Brookside Centre."
