Toddlers in Eden can enjoy a story and rhyme time session as events in Cumbria County Council’s "Make a Noise in Libraries" fortnight continue at Penrith Library.
The story and rhyme time session is for children under 5 and is accompanied with musical instruments. It will be held on Tuesday 19th July 10.30 - 11.00 and parents with young children are warmly invited to come along and join in.
"Make a Noise" fortnight then continues when author Elizabeth Gill visits Penrith Library on Thursday 21st July 2.00 - 3.00pm.
The series of events are primarily focused on promoting the range of library facilities and services available to visually impaired people. Elizabeth will talk about her novels, which are sagas set in the northern England, as many of her books are published in large print.
Peter Douglas will also visiting from Ulverscroft Publishers and will be giving a talk about books in large print as well as talking books.
Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy an interesting and informative hour. Tickets are £1.00 and include refreshments. Early booking is recommended as places are limited. You can ring Penrith library on 01768 242100.
Throughout "Make a Noise" fortnight (9th -23rd July) Penrith Library have a display by "Action for Blind People" giving information about services and facilities available to visually impaired people. Gill Swinglehurst will be available on Friday 15th July with interactive gadgets and help and advice to anyone who needs it.
