Cumbria County Council’s Library Service will be smashing its traditional silence and causing a commotion as the "Make a Noise in Libraries" fortnight comes to Whitehaven's Daniel Hay Library.
Make a Noise in Libraries events begin in Whitehaven when the Appleby based Music Vision Project plays at the Library between 11.00 and 12.00, Thursday 21st July. The project are playing at all the main libraries across Cumbria throughout July.
The Music Vision Project helps people with disabilities and mental health problems to have more self-confidence through composing and performing music.
Some of the Music Vision Project musicians will be playing their own compositions and everyone is invited to come along and enjoy their music.

"Cumbria’s libraries have become important and vibrant centres for the communities they serve, with a varied schedule of events throughout the year. We are delighted to welcome the Music Vision Project and encourage everyone who can to come along and enjoy their music on the day."
Throughout "Make a Noise" fortnight (11th -23rd July) Whitehaven Library have a display by "Action for Blind People" giving information about services and facilities available to visually impaired people. Gill Swinglehurst will be available on Thursday 14th July with interactive gadgets and help and advice to anyone who needs it.
