Families in Eden are set to benefit from enhanced early years facilities after more than £2700 is granted to three early years providers in the area by the county council's local committee for Eden.
The three providers receiving the funding are:
1. Penruddock and Greystoke Pre-school Nursery - Money to buy storage units, boxes to store nursery equipment and new display shelves for the book corner.
2. Eden District Childminding Group - Money to go towards setting up playgroup sessions which will provide an opportunity for childminders to come together on a regular basis.
3. Ullswater Nursery - Money will be used to buy new outdoor equipment to enhance current provision.
Chairman of the local committee, councillor Gary Strong said:
"Nurseries and childminding groups provide invaluable support to both children and families across this area. This money will enable all groups to enhance current facilities ensuring children are looked after in a safe and happy environment."
