Cumbria County Council’s Library Service will be smashing its traditional silence and causing a commotion as their "Make a Noise in Libraries" fortnight kicks off in Penrith Library.
Make a Noise in Libraries events begin when the Appleby based Music Vision Project plays at Penrith Library between 11.00 and 12.00 Saturday 9th July. The project will then go on to play at the main libraries across Cumbria throughout July.
The Music Vision Project helps people with disabilities and mental health problems to have more self-confidence through composing and performing music.
Some of the Music Vision Project musicians will be playing their own compositions and everyone is invited to come along and enjoy their music.
Roger Bingham, Cumbria County Council spokesman for Libraries says:
"Cumbria’s libraries have become important and vibrant centres for the communities they serve, with a varied schedule of events throughout the year. We are delighted to welcome the Music Vision Project and encourage everyone who can to come along and enjoy their music on the day."
