10/6/2005 - First Cumbrian care conference

Support for care workers is set for a boost when Care Sector Alliance Cumbria host their first annual conference on Tuesday 14 June at Rheged.

The one-day “Quality Support – The Future” conference will explore ways for care workers to develop so that they are equipped to support people using social care services effectively. The aim is to improve awareness around a variety of opportunities that can impact on performance in the future and draw attention to specific issues such as how to access funding.

Lesley Gill, Workforce Development Officer, Care Sector Alliance Cumbria, says:

“Everyone working in the care sector across the county wants to provide the best levels of service possible. Workforce training and development is a key step to ensure that everyone using social care services gets the very best levels of support. This conference will help care providers, as well as education and training providers understand how Care Sector Alliance Cumbria can support and develop existing structures already in place across the county.”
