Cumbria Sure Start is celebrating National Sure Start Month by hosting road shows across the county throughout June.
The road shows have been organised in partnership with Cumbria County Council's library service on the library bus. Families can take part in various activities including face painting, balloon modelling and story telling sessions. Staff from Cumbria Sure Start, Job Centre Plus, Connexions, Children's Information Service and health professionals will also be on hand to answer any questions parents may have.
The road shows take place on the following dates from 11am - 4pm:
Tue 7th June - Kendal Town Centre
Wed 8th June - Wigton Main Car Park
Thu 9th June - Dalton-In-Furness South Lakes Wild Animal Park
Fri 10th June - Whitehaven Market Square

The Month is sponsored by Sure Start, the Government programme dedicated to delivering the best start in life for every child. It highlights the broad approach now being taken to early education, family, health and welfare, and involves everyone who provides services to families locally and nationally.
County councillor Philip Chappelhow cabinet spokesman for children's services said:
"National Sure Start Month goes from strength to strength each year. It highlights the wide range of services and support already available for children, families and communities, to make sure as many people as possible know what is available to them. Sure Start aims to improve the health and well being of families and children before and from birth, so children are ready to flourish when they go to school. Cumbria Sure Start is responsible for doing this in Cumbria. They work closely with colleagues in education, health, social services, the voluntary and private sector, and with the local Sure Start Programmes. I am sure that this year will be just as successful and I hope that people take the opportunity to attend these road shows that have been organised across the County."
Nicola Jackson from Cumbria Sure Start said:
"It is fantastic that there are so many activities happening in Cumbria for Sure Start Month. Everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun. It is vital that we celebrate the range and quality of support and activities on offer to parents and children in Cumbria and the positive impact this is having on children in the County."
