Residential Care services for the elderly provided by Cumbria Care, the County Council's in-house provider, are exceeding national standards.
As a result of recent inspections a number of care homes across the county passed with flying colours. In particular, Parkside at Maryport received a grade 4 inspection report for exceeding national standards.
County Councillor, Tim Heslop, spokesman for Cumbria Care says:
"Making sure elderly and vulnerable people receive quality care is a key task of this council. I applaud the staff in Cumbria Care for their hard work, determination and caring approach to looking after people in Cumbria Care homes."
In addition to Parkside, the following Cumbria Care homes have all received good or excellent inspection reports recently.
Bridge House, Manorside, Flookburgh.
Moot Lodge, Market Place, Brampton.
Ravensfield, Main Street, Keswick.
The Abbey, Main Street, Stavely.
Christian Head, Silver Street, Kirkby Stephen.
Langrigg House, Langrigg Road, Carlisle.
Applethaite Green, Old College Lane, Windemere.
Marsh House, Victoria Road, Ulverston.
