Two out of schools clubs are set to benefit after receiving funding from Cumbria County Council's local committee for Carlisle today.
The groups are :
1. Scotby C of E Primary School Out of School Club - £960 to install emergency lighting in areas of the school used by the out of school club
2. St Michaels After School Club - £796 to help with new activities and new equipment
County councillor John Collier, chairman of the local committee said:
"There is a growing demand for childcare, however the facilities provided must meet the needs of the parents as well as being affordable. Both these groups provide a valuable service to their local community. The county council continues to support early years groups so parents can go to work or take up training feeling confident that they are leaving their child in a safe and friendly environment."
