Castle ward residents will be able to hear about the Environment Agency's Caldew/City Centre flood alleviation scheme at the next neighbourhood forum meeting.
A representative will be at the meeting next Wednesday to make a presentation to the local community on the flood defence scheme and give information on developing flood kits for individuals and community groups.
Local county councillor Geoff Hodgson said:
"This is a great opportunity to reassure residents about what contingency plans are in place if we are ever faced with flooding to the extent we were back in January. I would urge anyone who want to find out more to come along to the meeting on Wednesday."
Other items on the agenda include:
1. Carlisle Renaissance - Carlisle City Council representative will give a presentation outlining proposals for Carlisle' regeneration after the floods
2. Police Matters - Residents will have an opportunity to raise any issue or concern with Sgt Andy Baines
3. Grant applications will be considered for voluntary projects in the area
The forum will meet on Wednesday 30th November at Lowther Street Church in Carlisle at 7pm.
