Thousands of primary school children across Cumbria will be tucking into a ‘Magical Meal’ this week as they celebrate the release of the new Harry Potter film ‘The Goblet of Fire’. The event is the latest in the programme of fun and exciting ‘Kid’s Kitchen’ lunchtime activities organised by Cumbria County Council's Premises Unit who provide the majority of school meals on behalf of the county council.
This special event will see each participating child receive a tasty and nutritious magical meal of goulish goulash and spellcaster cous cous followed by slitherin' sponge with magic dust.
Five schools across the county are taking part. They are:
Newlaithes Junior School, Carlisle, on Thursday, 17th November, at noon.
Ewanrigg Junior School, Maryport, on Thursday, 17th November at 11.45am
Hensingham Primary School, Whitehaven, on Friday, 18th November, at noon.
The ‘Kid’s Kitchen’ characters, Egon Toast and Chelsea Bunn, will be on hand to help Magical Meals event go with a swing at two schools. They are:
Sandgate School, Kendal, on Wednesday, 16th November, at noon.
St Catherine's School, Penrith, on Thursday, 17th November, at noon.
County councillor Philip Chappelhow, cabinet spokesman for children's services, said:
“This is a great idea and just one of the inspirational themes our Premises Unit is creating to ensure school children eat well and are nourished with as much great Cumbrian-sourced food as we can supply.''
