Developing youth work services and facilities will be top of the agenda for the next Hillcrest and Hensingham neighbourhood forum.
The meeting will be held at 6.30pm, Thurday 1st December, at Mayfield School, Hensingham.
Residents who attend will hear about the development of youth work for the area and proposals for the future. Paul McLauchlin, Cumbria County Council Youth Co-ordinator will be on hand to explain the Copeland Youth Plan and various youth groups will outline their ongoing programmes.
Representatives from Whitehaven Harbour Youth Project, Copeland Stadium Trust, Copeland Wildcats, Hensingham RLFC and Weston Spirit are all expected to attend.
Judith Andersen, local county councillor for the area said:
"Youth work is always an important issue for any community. This meeting will give residents an opportunity to hear from the county council about how they are delivering services in the area. They will also hear from various groups about the current opportunities and future plans.”
The neighbourhood forum gives local people a chance to be involved with, and air their views on issues that are at the heart of their own community. I hope that people take the opportunity to come along to the meeting on Thursday."
The neigbourhood forum is an ideal opportunity for residents to raise any other concerns that they have. Forum grants will be considered to fund a number of projects in the area.
