Today, Cumbria County Council's local committee for Carlisle agreed to changing the current opening hours at Harraby Library.
The library currently closes to the public at 12pm for an hour so pupils at North Cumbria Technology College can use its resources. Due to the College changing its lunch hour the library will now close to the public at 1pm so the heavy use by pupils during their lunch break does not conflict with use by the public.
County councillor Cyril Weber, chairman of the local committee said:
"Harraby Library shares its premises with NCTC. This change in opening hours is necessary to retain the good joint working already in place so both public and pupils can make best use of the resources available."
