11/10/2005 - Clown around in Ulverston Library

Making education fun can be something of a juggling act but now families can learn together by clowning around at a Circus Skills session in Ulverston Library on Thursday 13th October from 4:00 - 5:00 pm.

Cumbria County Council’s Library and Adult Education Services are holding a series of events across the county to mark this year’s national family learning week 8th - 16th October.

Family Learning Week is a national campaign that raises awareness of the importance and scope of family learning. It aims to strengthen communities and to create more opportunities for the family to learn together.

The Campaign for Learning launched the first national Family Learning Day in 1998. This became Family Learning Weekend in 1999 and Family Learning Week for 2004.

Philip Chapelhow, Cumbria County Council spokesman for Children’s Services and Lifelong Learning says:

"Family Learning Week is a great opportunity for families to try new activities and learn together. I would encourage parents to take their children along and take advantage of the events that are being held across the county."

Families can contact Ulverston Library on 01229 894 151 or just turn up on the night and join in the fun.
