11/10/2005 - Community safety at the heart of Neighbourhood Forum

Community Safety will be top of the agenda at the next meeting of Cumbria County Council's neighbourhood forum for Bransty and Harbour. The forum will meet at St Gregory & St Patrick’s Infant School, Whitehaven, 7.00pm on Tuesday 18th October, and will welcome Mike Robertson from the Fire and Rescue Service.

Residents are invited along to hear a presentation on the Fire and Rescue Service's Community Safety Action Plan. The meeting also offers the opportunity to raise any other concerns that residents in the local community have.

The agenda also includes presentations on Copeland Borough Council's budget consultation and Copeland Homes investment programme and forum grants will be considered to fund a number of projects in the area.

County councillor Bernard Kirk, Chairman of the forum says:

"The meeting will present a great opportunity to learn about the community safety initiatives that the Fire and Rescue Service have in place and get some valuable advice on fire safety. The forum is also the best opportunity for local residents to raise any concerns they have about the issues that are important to them. I hope people can make it to the meeting on Tuesday."

Anyone wanting to know more about the forum or apply for a grant should contact the county council's area support team for Copeland on 01946 855023.
