South Lakeland County Councillors will be at the Birdcage on Finkle Street in Kendal between 11.00 and 13.00 this Saturday, September 24th, to answer questions about their plans to improve the town's pedestrian priority zone.
Cumbria County Council South Lakes Committee Chairman Alan Bobbett will be joined by county council engineers and other members of the Kendal Traffic Action Group to meet the puiblic. They will answer questions on new designs to enhance the environement and aesthetic appeal of the pedestrian zone which stretches along Stricklandgate from Lowther street to Library Road.
Initial indications suggest that the new pedestrian zone and associated traffic scheme are working well, but it is hoped that new streetscene designs will make the zone more pedestrian friendly.
Councillor Alan Bobbett says:
"We are keen to hear from the public about the pedestrianisation scheme so I would encourage everyone to come down to the Birdcage and share their views."
