30/9/2005 - Neighbourhood forum tackles issues at the heart of the community

Cumbria County Council's neighbourhood forum for the Morton area will meet next week to tackle various community concerns.

High on the agenda includes, dog fouling, grass cutting and police matters. Forum grants will also be considered to fund a number of community projects in the area.

County councillor John Bell, chairman of the forum said:

"This neighbourhood forum aims to get people involved in issues that are important to them and their community. We try to make sure that items on the agenda focus on how we can enhance and improve this area to benefit everyone in the community. I hope residents take the time to come along to the meeting on Tuesday."

The forum will meet in the Training Suite at Morton Community Centre on Wigton Road on Tuesday 4th October at 7pm. Anyone wanting to know more about the forum or apply for a grant should contact the county council's area support team for Carlisle on 01228 606474.
