7/9/2005 - Health matters at neighbourhood forum

At the next Brampton & District neighbourhood forum meeting, residents will hear from the Chief Executive of North Cumbria Primary Care Trust about the proposals for change in North Cumbria Health Services.

Chief Executive, Nigel Woodcock will give a brief talk on the proposals for community services and what the implications might be for Brampton Cottage Hospital. The meeting will be held in the small lecture theatre at William Howard School on Monday 12th September at 7.30pm.

Chairman of the forum, councillor Philip Howard said:

"There has been a lot of publicity recently about the proposals for change in North Cumbria Health Services. Some of these changes will obviously have an effect on the way services are currently provided and will have implications for our cottage hospital here in Brampton. The county council encourages anyone wanting to know more about this and wants to share their views to come along to the meeting on Monday."

Other agenda items include:

1. Talkin Tarn - Mike Mitchelson from Carlisle City Council will give a short update

2. Cumbria Fire Service - Feedback from chip-pan amnesty and fire safety home visit checks

3. Police matters

4. Grant applications will also be considered

Any groups wanting to apply for funding can get application forms from the county council's area support team in Carlisle on 01228 606730.
