County council dignitaries from the past and present will be meeting later this week for the first time in five years.
Councillor Allan Caine, Chairman of Cumbria County Council will be hosting a gathering of former Chairmen of the council on Friday 25th August.
The last time chairmen all gathered for the informal get together was in 2001. Friday's event will be held at the Grand Jury Room in The Courts in Carlisle at 11.00am.
Among those expected to attend are Carlisle MP Eric Martlew, who was chairman between 1983 and 1985.
Press photographers are invited to capture the event in a group photo that will be staged on the day.
Councillor Caine said: “This used to be a regular event, but we haven't all met up for five years - so it will be a great opportunity to compare stories and catch up on old times. Plus there's a great deal of experience there that we can all tap into to make sure the Chairman's post is used to its full potential.”
