19/7/2006 - Carlisle firefighter's long service recognised

A long serving Carlisle firefighter has been commended in a ceremony to mark his long years of service with good conduct. 

Malcolm 'Mally' Hind, whose proud moment was witnessed by fellow members of the city’s Blue Watch, joined the county’s Fire and Rescue Service in 1985, serving first in Whitehaven before moving to Carlisle.

Alongside his firefighting duties, Mally also undertakes the demanding role of the Fire Brigade Union Chair.
