Cumbria County Council and Stagecoach have agreed to divert bus pick-up points on Stricklandgate to Kendal bus station while the ongoing works in the town centre continue.
There had been some disruption to bus services caused by lorries carrying out trade deliveries, but the decision to move passenger pick-ups to the bus station will alleviate the problem.
"We apologise to bus passengers for any inconvenience, but this is the best solution for everybody. Normal service will be resumed in Stricklandgate, with enhanced bus stop facilities, as soon as the work is finished," said Councillor Jack Richardson, cabinet member responsible for transport services.
